Waymakers appoints Newport Beach native to 2023 board of directors

Waymakers, a nonprofit organization whose longstanding mission is to build safer communities by helping individuals make their way through conflict and crisis to a place of strength and stability, has announced Newport Beach native, Chief Mike Hamel (ret.), chief security operations officer for Hoag Health Systems, to the 2923 board of directors. In addition, Isabel Becerra, president and CEO of the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, was also named.

“These two new board members join Waymakers in our 50th year of delivering life-changing services to Orange County,” said Ronnetta Johnson, executive director, Waymakers. “As we continue to create partnerships and take proactive approaches to address concerns with youth and families across Orange County, I have full confidence this pair will pull from their extensive background and exposure to social challenges when serving on our board in 2023.”
